Description
“Elegance is not being noticed, but being remembered” said the great designer Giorgio Armani.
We agree, and it was with this spirit that this petrol green, anthracite and pearl gray gobelin waistcoat was born.
The main fabric is a gobelin, which has the characteristic of being a cotton fabric mixed with other fibers, which serve to allow the play of brightness and thicknesses of the various yarns.
The back is lined with a half belt to adjust the size, also made of gobelin.
But let us tell you its story and some curiosities about how to wear it.
We started from the research of historical forms to create something new, fresher and younger. The main feature is in fact the low buttoning, somewhat inspired by the riding style of the late eighteenth century, but the hand-embroidered silk eyelets continue unexpectedly to the tips.
The buttons also want to be a surprise: not the classic corozo, not beautiful synthetic buttons, nor covered buttons … We have chosen opaque metal buttons, with a vintage taste, which stand out but do not break the harmony of the waistcoat.
Why did we choose them so neutral? Because the pattern of the fabric is very beautiful and we carefully cut the front so that it was perfect and continued harmoniously.
How to button a waistcoat?
Usually a five-button waistcoat doesn’t button all the way, you have to leave the last button open, do you know why?
Because it serves to show the craftsmanship and beauty of the silk eyelets, but also because it is a very critical point and subject to strong tensions, especially when you wear it while sitting.
Can I wear a waistcoat without a jacket?
Yes and no, it actually depends on the type of waistcoat and the occasion.
In the men’s formal suit, the waistcoat is the third piece of a suit. It usually has a back lining to be lighter and fit better under the jacket. During the religious or civil ceremony we advise you to cover it with your jacket, and to feel free not to wear it during the celebrations.
Curiosity: if you wear a waistcoat you can easily wear the jacket open!
For a more versatile style, however, you can combine it with trousers or nice jeans and get ready for an evening or a special event that does not require a formal wear.
This waistcoat is perfect if you are looking for something unique and handmade and with attention to detail, whether you are a groom or a guest, whether you are attending an informal event or a special evening.
You can combine it with a suit you already own or contact us to make a custom one.
Attention! We do not have large stocks of fabric and we can only make a few pieces, it is important for us to create unique and unrepeatable garments for our customers: this is our philosophy.
Once the fabric is finished, it will no longer be available.
